Time at your Current Address

Hi guys

Quick question which you may be able to help me with.

On loan applications, when you specify time at your current address, is this referenced over the course of your entire life?

Reason I ask is because I have lived in the same house since birth, which totals 27 years (all of which spent living with parents). However, my credit file shows three seperate periods at the address: 10/2005 to present 10/1999 to 10/2001 10/1996 to 10/1998

So, what should I be stating on applications? Lived at this address since 10/2005?

Thanks in advance...

  • i would imagine it means the time in your current spell at that address rather than total time lived there - give them a call to clarify?
  • Cheers - just rang Experian, they said it doesn't matter, they were just years I wasn't registered to vote...
  • So you've never lived anywhere else? As there's 4 years where you aren't on the voters roll it looks like you've been elsewhere. If this is the case you should put that you've been back with your parent for 2years (approx from the dates you've given) and wherever you were before that. If you've never moved out then put 27 years.

Yes but if there are no linked addresses...
  • True, Jay78, I was just speculating on the information given by the op. Also, if there's credit taken out in the time he's off the voter's roll then it'll confirm he's been living at that address anyway. However, it's best to stay on the voter's roll as, at least in my opinion, it really helps your credit score.
