Help needed .. Shock redundancy during house move!
Out of curiosity what trade is your husband in? I don't know many workmen who are out of work at the moment. I predict a shortage of certain trades soon, the rates being offered are already climbing due to the lack of people available.
Don't even think of exchanging contracts until you know about his job.
If you exchange contracts and then the mortgage lender finds out about the situation then they will withdraw the mortgage offer and you will be in breach of contract regarding the house purchase. You will then be up a certain creek without a paddle and will lose thousands or tens of thousands of pounds as the other party will be able to sue you for everything. No-one will care that you husband lost his job, no-one will care about you circumstances, you will just lose money hand over fist.
So don't exchange contracts until you know his job is safe
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.
