"Termination of employment" after I handed in a resignation letter

Hey

This is probably a stupid question but just want to make sure...

I handed in my notice at work a few weeks ago

"Just recieved a letter in the post stating "Further your letter of resignation, I can confirm the termination of your employment will be effective from the 1st August 2017. "

Dose that mean they fired me? because the way its worded "termination of employment" sounds like they fired me.

They also sent me a "UK Termination and Transfer out of financial conduct authroity(FCA) regulated roles form" and they want me to sign it but no idea what it is??

Im probably being an idiot but i dont want it to be my record lol

No, you terminated your employment by handing in your notice. They're using it to mean 'end of employment', not 'we're sacking you'.

I assume the FCA form is related to your job - do you work for a bank or other financial institution?

Sounds like it. I assume the form simply informs the FCA that you've resigned from a regulated role (ie regulated by the FCA), but as with anything, don't sign it until you're read it and understood it.

It pretty much says to keep all of the information relating to the company confidential and thati returned all retrieveable data, paper and eletronic back to the company

    sounds pretty standard?

Yep. I reckon that their motivation in sending you the letter was an official confirmation of your last working day. I don't know what the other form is, but get them to explain it if you don't understand it.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
