Have narrowed down my choice of dishwasher to a Bosch or a Miele. Looking at reliability, longevity, robustness together with good washing/drying but no fancy features, can anyone share their experiences? It needs to be semi integrated, full size and probably have a cutlery tray as opposed to a basket.

Miele all the way for me. My current Miele is 12 years old and still runs/looks like new. I love the separate rack for cutlery which is a whole tray on the top rung rather than a piddly basket in the bottom drawer.0

I had a Bosch which was absolutely great and lasted about 16 years - I've read reviews though that more recently made ones do not last as well.0

My Bosch has worked fine.
I've heard their afterservice is great too.
Why a cutlery tray instead of a basket?
Read the differences between the machines. You may find the higher priced ones include features you don't need. We picked a mid-high range one. The one above was louder, had only 5-6 mins less on a "quick wash" and came with a couple of features we didn't need.0 -
I have a Bosch and would replace it with another, I've been very happy with it0

Bosch for me every time.
Good middle of the road price range appliances.
Miele are a bit overpriced for me.
My opinion only of course0 -
No - that's my opinion too.
Apart from Bosch being middle of the road. They are as a brand, but the quality of their products is pretty good.0 -

Not sure if you are asking me, but the cutlery "tray" on a Miele isn't a tray or a basket, it is a whole shelf. The top shelf pulls out and is for cutlery. Imagine your two shelf dishwasher with a third shelf....0 -
My own lovely dw is on the way out. Ariston, bought in wait for it 1996!!
All I want is a similar job. Reliable, with a quickish wash (no more than an hour) and a good dry.
I am very sad to see the Ariston go. It served me so well.
I don't know where to start looking!0 -
I recently replaced my old bosch (18 years service) with a new bosch. Both semi-integrated.
Not sure how Miele do theirs but I like the way on the Bosch you get extra trim matching (brushed metal in my case) to allow for different door panel lengths, and it's easy to set the spring weights on the door for various panel weights.
The new one appears equally as well built as the old one, with excellent sound deadening material.
I've never owned a Miele dish washer, but don't really feel the need.0
