I have a question that has probably been asked a million times
With competitions such as with the IPC magazines and some of the local radio stations ie SGR fm, XFm etc they seem to give the exact same prizes and the questions are the same as well. An example is a Zoo competition and a FHM competition.....see below (exactly the same)

http://www.fhm.com/blacksite/
Magazines owned by Emap.
Does this mean that there is actually only one prize per company? Or does it mean that each magazine/station/whatever gives a seperate prize?

I think the basic idea behind this is that it's a "promotional competition". That in order to try to increase the popularity of a brand or new product, in this case an Xbox game, they go to numerous popular websites and magazines and say "Look, here's a product we're trying to sell, give it away in your competition at our expense". The company benefits by gaining more exposure to its product without having to spend actual money by advertising it instead. I think things like IPC just facilitate the process... a sort of niche market as a mediator of competitions for publicity so that companies can send competitions to numerous venues without having to do it themselves.
This is just what I think, I haven't actually researched it myself, but I've wondered the same thing many times.Competitions Entered: 2,015+

If there is any left a little lucky dust would be shown a good home over here :0)Never regret anything....'cos at one time it was exactly what you wanted...0

Would dearly love some lucky dust! Started comping at the beginning of October, have thousands of entries under my belt, spending several hours a day plugging away on here. My only win has been a Shrek ball, so somewhat disheartened I have not done any comps for a week as currently thinking I am just banging my head against the wall - so to speak
.
Please Please - some lucky dust! and I will give it another whirl.
Thanks
Best Wishes

Any chance of a teeny sprinkle of dust for me please? I'm really trying hard to win a little TV as mine is so old it won't work once the switch over happens....I'm holding off from buying one until the last minute (I think I have over 12 months to go though!). I'm not greedy....even a tiny one would be fantastic!:D
Thank you, oh kind and generous fairy:A0 -
