Please can somebody tell me if there is a way to view the comps in the order in which they were posted, I feel I am missing out on a lot of great comp entries by viewing those most recently posted first. Also any tips on how to remember which ones I have entered?
Thanks to all, and good luck with all your comping!!!

A while ago, I started to use the daily comp subscription.

You can only really do this once you have caught up.

If you go to the main competition page, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=72
in the green bar, click on Forum Tools. Then you can subscribe to the comp forum either daily, or weekly. You should then receive an email listing all the new comps in the order they were posted.
What I do then is to open the email, and have it very narrow on one side of the screen, click on the first comp, and make that to the size of the rest of the screen. and work down them that way. It also means that you can make a comment on the post without losing your place by getting yourself bumped to the top of the posting. It also means that you are working a day behind, so go through the comps first as normal to see if any have dates that finish today, and enter those first.
I hope this makes sense, as its difficult to explain ~ much easier to do.

As regards to remembering when you have done a comp, Click the thanks button ~ this then disappears, as you can only click it once. (I really don't bother to remember what I have entered ~ in my mind there's not a lot of point. You either win, or you don't ~ but I rarely enter comps anywhere else but on here anyway. There's plenty to keep me going on here ~ you do get better at "remembering" a layout of a page, or question or picture though.

Do you mean the daily email? I found that this was sometimes happening to me, so what I do now is resubscribe on the forum tools and this seems to work better (just got to remember to do it)!!!!!!.

And, guess what, the email didn't arrive today ~ and now have to play catch up.

First I sort the list of threads in the reverse to normal order (Ascending I believe). Then I start entering all the comps that interest me that have a closing date of before a fixed date, such as say 31 December 2007. I keep a note of where I am up to so that I can come back to that point and pick up where I left off.

At the moment, I actually have three such counters running simultaneously so there are three points I can come back to. These are currently:

Done up to 02/11 @ 21.02 (all comps)
    Done up to 13/11 @ 18.28 (for comps with CD on/before Dec 15 - Roberts Robi )
Done up to 28/11 @ 16.50 (for comps with CD on/before Nov 30)

This may seem like overkill to some but it allows me to progress fairly quickly through the many pages and actually feel like I am getting somewhere. If I choose the right CD options, it is quite easy to skim read through a page of threads and find the ones you have yet to enter.

I also use the thanks button as a way of double checking if I have entered, i.e. if a thread has been bumped or I misread the CD and did it by mistake.
Many tx to all who post constructively in all the forums!

Hi, I'm a newbie & new to comping and just wondering if most of you enter online/email comps rather than postal ones as there's no cost for envelopes/stamps/postcards which must soon mount up. There are several postal comps I've seen I'd like to enter but being totally out of stationery out of the moment means I'd have to go shopping before I enter. Not quite MSE I guess.

Many thanks, and apologies if its been asked before.

    Hi RoxyK,

I just enter competitions online really as many as I can :)

  • I saw it and somebody has asked for it to be stickied, but I can't find it anywhere - do we have one or has it faded away?

    Thanks
