Hi
Accuracy is the key on low power devices - many of the issues you'll find reported on items 'eating' power on standby are simply down to monitoring without taking the AC power factor into consideration, therefore often exaggerating the power/energy being consumed ....

That point needs emphasising. At very low power 'standby' consumption these devices are simply not accurate.
Agree .... that's why I use a whole house monitor (clamp type) to track overall power consumption, backed up with the in-line plug monitor (which measures AC PF) to accurately check power & energy requirements of individual items.

I believe you can borrow these meters from some local libraries and other organisations as this is MSE and I don't want to spend £17! Either way, it's something I ought to do to get my 52 watts usage down after switching everything off at the wall. I leave the router on, you never know when you might want to use the tablet in bed!0

Mine was £10 from Maplins.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -
I can't be bothered to spend time in the loft monitoring how much the network switch or tv booster are using - they both feed at least 10 access points so are unavoidable. I do worry about them and the iBoost catching fire in the loft though - may stick a battery powered smoke alarm up there - no doubt at some point it will start the low battery beeping only audible at night which will cause huge annoyance trying to track it down.
Unfortunately our model of iBoost is not compatible with the portable displays and although we have one of the old eon energy meters again I don't think this can tell us how much power is going in each direction so whilst we can measure pv production and import energy use from the meters we don't know export and thus gross household use.I think....0 -

- your loft insulation will probably dampen the sound in your own house ....
