Hello

My daughter who is 17 has started a part-time job in a cafe in-between a-levels. The owner has taken her national insurance number but no bank details.

When asked if owner needed bank details she said no she just needed national insurance number.

My daughter was under the impression that her wages would be paid straight into her bank account but wonders how that is possible without account number and sort code.

Well it is not!

Maybe he is either going to pay in cash, by cheque or get the details later but obviously he can't pay money directly into her account without the details!

it wont be possible without her bank details but cafes are the type of place to pay cash, id expect cash

Unless the employer has psychic powers surely it's obvious that payment can't be made to a bank account for which no details have been provided. The options left are either cash or cheque.
