Does anyone avoid social media comps?

Options
I have really been trying to get back into comping but find it hard to find the time having two young children so I was mostly using Twitter and Facebook however I decided to quite using FB as didn't like the thought that I was spamming my friends and family and after using Twitter like a crazy woman all hours of the night for approx 4 years with only two very small wins I decided to give up on that option too....so I'm starting over and just doing old school online entries....does anyone else comp like this and do you have any luck?

I've been looking at the comps ending the next day but they almost all seem to be social media - is there a way to exclude these?

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense 😂 I'm being 'stickered' by my 4 year old and can't focus 😂

Unfortunately there isn't anyway to exclude the competitions other than marking them with a cross.

I tend to avoid 'share' competitions, it is against Facebook terms and conditions anyway and it would fill my wall with competitions and flood my friend's feeds, I do share the odd competition if it is for something I would really like to win or if I have a high chance of winning (1000 winners etc.)
I do enter the like and comment competitions that I'd like to win though and have many of my wins on Facebook.

My Twitter is mainly competitions but I've only ever won a couple of times.

Best of Luck with competitions and may you have many wins, wherever they come from! :)
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

I enter the odd FB comps but don't bother with Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest comps. I keep thinking about dropping FB comps too as I must win once a year and nothing big!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

I'd love to get into pintrest and instagram - but realistically I don't have the time to really dedicate to them, nor do i have 'friends' that would want tagging in them (for some reason they think it's a waste of time - littel do they know eh!)

I too avoid Facebook L+S - I used to win LOADS back in 2011/2012 when companies started using FB to run them, but I avoid now unless they have an app.

I do twitter though - I find it easy to do on my phone :)

Most of my wins come from social media.

Facebook I share to a group rather than on my wall which helps to stop being so spammy to friends etc.

Twitter I'm just a fuss pot lately and don't enter as many but still do okay.

I also like that with social media you can gain a fairly decent idea of how many entries there are in a comp
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

  • I don't do FB comps simply because I don't want it plastered all over the place that I commented or shared or whatever some inane rubbish that anyone who knows me would know I wouldn't endorse in a month of rainy Sundays. There are privacy settings on FB precisely so that NOT everyone knows every single thing you're doing/saying/thinking/contemplating and to me it feels uncomfortable announcing to everyone what you're up to - none of their business!

I don't enter any social media comps at all but I do enter a lot of the Rafflecopter/Gleam comps by just leaving a comment or visiting a blog daily. I know a lot of people don't like them but I seem to be very lucky with them, so maybe try giving them a go.

I do FB but only like and comment ones, it's funny how many like & share comps are won by someone who is friends of the owner. I also do twitter but rarely win

  • I don't use social media at all - I have no accounts and don't want to set any up just for comps.

It is a shame that so many comps these days are social media ones but but I guess it is a good thing for me as I would never keep up with them all as I barely have time for the ones I do enter!

since getting back into comping i tend to do twitter comps as it is just to retweet, avoid fb unless its a local entry competition or a big company with a big prize, i hate RC and gleam so avoid them, but tend to do everything else unless its for a book or dvd. since coming back into comping i find that the ordinary comps have decreased and that there are a hell of a lot more RC or gleam comps!
    Just about to give up!
