Employment contract - realised working lime than should!
Comments
-
I signed my contract a week prior to starting my employment.
I must have been told when to come in and when to finish and I presume it was Personnel!
So, going off what you say getmore4less, my working hours have been changed without a new contract issued and so are legit?
Incidentally, when I look at my contract, it does actually say that my overtime is paid ( of which I do a lot)
I was paid this way for about 10 years. Then they started to say that you could only be given toil for the time worked (so no incentive to do it apart from not looking good if you don't).
I was miffed when this happened and found out that by law, they have to get you to sign something to agree to this change, but I never have.
So, I suppose they have updated my contract without issuing a new one in this case alone!0 -
You don't need to sign things to accept most changes, you just need to work to the new rules or conditions.
It's a big government organisation
I suspect that the reality is that the T&C are a big bunch of handbooks and guidelines.
any dated later than your contract are probably what the organization thinks are your T&C.
on TOIL I like it because you can get time/days off without using up holidays.0 -
Yeah, but it's nice to have a choice if you could do with earning extra though, but I get what you're saying.
I know that some people who have worked too much toil where they were not legally able to log it onto the system, and have had to be paid. Of course this is kept quiet.
You know what, I'm going to work the hours that I normally work and not feel bad about it, as they are what I was told to work since my first day and without any contradiction and especially when my employer has updated my terms and conditions just verbally (location and job title also).
Feeling quite militant now
Thanks all for input0
