Hi Everyone!
I have felt self conscious about my nose for many years, and was bullied through school. I have taken much consideration and thought and have decided to go ahead with rhinoplasty. I am wanting this done for myself, and to feel better about myself.
Deep breaths! This is 7,500 because I am wanting to go with a very good accredited surgeon.
However, I am wanting this done soon, I dont want to be in a position getting married where I am refusing photos because I hate them that much. However, the surgery would not be until November. But I need to place £500 deposit now. I am wondering whether to apply for the loan through my bank (HSBC) now (who have said i would be accepted for the loan), so that I can place the deposit and not spend the money until the full amount is required 4 wks before. Or should I apply closer to the time for the loan?
I am very confused on what to do, so any help would be great. I had savings in place, but then my car totally broke so i had to use these savings for a new car.

It depends on how confident you are in getting the loan.

I'd consider that before putting down a deposit.

However, I am wanting this done soon, so this requires me getting a loan for 8,000. However, the surgery would not be until November. But I need to place £500 deposit now. If the surgery is £7500 and the deposit is £500 - why is the loan you'd need for £8000?
Check with your surgeon/private clinic, many of them will do deals on surgery loans that have an interest free period (for example Zebra Health Finance works with a number of hospitals - I'm sure there are others, but that's one I'm aware of).
I personally would make sure I'd be approved for the loan before committing to the deposit.

You have put up with your "imperfections" for this long,
and you have endured this through school, which is going to be the hashest environment for people making fun or others differences ..

So why the rush now ??
You would feel much better about yourself if you saved for the op.
Simply put aside each month the money that you would have spent servicing the loan.

Then , when you can pay in cash, you will have no interest to pay

Who knows, during the time it takes to save up, you may realise that there are many many better things to spend 8k on than using it to conform to what everyone else thinks you should look like !!

    Just saying ...

Get the finance in place before you commit any deposit.

I'd also suggest paying any deposit on credit card to provide S75 protection against a botch job.

Hi all, thanks for the replies.
I am committed to the loan.
I am not getting this done because of what other people think I should look like, I am getting this done for myself and to feel better about myself.
I had 4,000 in savings, but my car decided to full on die so I had to use the savings for a new car.
I am wanting it done before getting married because I hate photos and dont want to be in a position when I am getting married where I am refusing photos being taken. I want to be happy with myself.
I have considered finance with the company but it works out more expensive, the loan is the best option in the long run.
I have had an appointment with the bank who have confirmed i would be accepted for loan
