Not paid correctly by previous employer

So here is the story. My previous employer Virgin Media. have not paid my wages correctly. I left the business on 20th July Handing in notice in early June (more than the required 4 weeks notice in my contract) because of a "error" the system wasnt updated till the 23r of July meaning my pay due 26th July was pulled and not paid. I had not been notified of this and only found out when I contacted the HR department for them to tell me.
They gave me the reason that because it was updated late they had to pull it as my p45 would be incorrect as would show i was paid more than i was due. I can kinda understand this but following this they said i would be paid the 4th august but this would include everything the company owed me.
I had to borrow £400 to cover basic bills of my mother and push my rent back till 4th august to pay that. they refused to pay this any earlier even via a chaps payment.
Fast forward to today i recieve a payslip through the post to find its incorrect. they have taken £470 off me for holidays owed. I checked with 2 managers since and it should be 7 hours pay now unless i was on £67 a hour this is incorrect. I ring HR they say it has been submitted as 7 days holiday not 7 hours. plus on top of this i have not been paid commision i earned in July also about £400 (being honest i expected this august 26th but HR promised me it all in 4th august final pay)
I am not sure what i can do about this situation. I feel completely let down by the business and potentially waiting till 26th august for it to be fully resolved.
Any ideas on what i can do?

How much is owed ?
Surely theres no need to wait until 26th august for it to be resolved. It just needs a manager to do a manual payment for whats owed, whether a direct to bank account or as a cheque.0 -
about £800 the managers cant do it, the pay comes through hr who are being very obstructive saying it can only be done in a Payrun which the next is 26th august0

Even so, Im still surprised no 1 can do a manual payment eg someone further up the chain.
Id be sending a letter saying they have x amount of days or you go to the small claims court.
You considered contacting the Virgin !edia boss ?0 -

The problem with threatening small claims is that the next pay run will have been done and the OP will have his money long before it gets anywhere near a court. And I rather suspect that the OP will be out his filing fee.0 -
He certainly will be if he hasn't issued a letter before action giving them time to pay - and that they will know, cannot ruin out before the day they intend to pay anyway. Provoking them will only make them more belligerent, not less. The problem with threatening small claims is that the next pay run will have been done and the OP will have his money long before it gets anywhere near a court.
