Emirates stadium tour

Options
Hi all,

I am taking my son to do the Arsenal Emirates stadium tour.

We will be travelling by car from South Yorkshire, and I was hoping for some help with logistics in getting to the stadium.

I was thinking of getting on the tube outside London and getting the tube in. He is only eight so am looking for the easiest way. (Would this mean avoiding the congestion charge?)

Which station would be easy to park at and direct to a station near the stadium?

Many thanks for any ideas.

I would suggest parking at either Cockfosters or Oakwood tube stations.
Cockfosters station is about two miles from J24 of the M25, so not far from where the A1(m) joins the M25 at J23.
Oakwood station is about a mile further on.
Both car parks charge £5 Mon-Fri and £2 Sat and £1.50 Sun.

Both are on the Piccadilly Line which is direct to Holloway Road station for Arsenal's ground.

Single tube fare is £1.50 off peak, or £2.80 peak, for an adult using contactless or Oyster.

A child under eleven travels free with a fare paying adult.

    KeithP,

Thanks for that information, that looks like the best plan.

My wife is looking into some 'park on my drive' options around the stadium - any thoughts?

The congestion charge zone is smaller now than it used to be, and the Emirates Stadium is well outside it, so if you do drive to the vicinity of the stadium you won't be charged. I'd still go with Keith's suggestion though, especially if you're visiting on a weekday.

My only thought on that is - be careful.

I have heard of people taking up offers like this, paying by, say, Paypal, and then parking on the drive at the residential address given.
Only to find when returning that whoever 'sold' the space did not live there and had no right to do so.
The real owner of the space being much aggrieved.
  • I'm not a football fan but attended a NHS conference at the Emirates a few years ago. I was amazed at what a great stadium it is.

The staff were excellent and the catering was fantastic! I almost changed my allegiance from Liverpool.

I hope you enjoy the day as much as I did.

You could also drive to Potters Bar or New Barnet and take the train to Finsbury Park, which is close to the ground.

    Update.

Many thanks KeithP, I took your advice and parked at Cockfosters station, great ride in, nice and quiet.

The Emirates stadium tour was fantastic, possibly the best visitor attraction I have ever been to!!!

The staff were very well informed and everything ran like clockwork, we were on a Legends tour and Charlie George took us round - he was fantastic!!

    Amazing day :T

I did the Emirates stadium tour a couple of years ago and went round the museum which was quite interesting.

I walked past Charlie George, he was leaving as I went in. Not a single person noticed him. I put this down to age and not knowing the history of the club.

I work with Gooners who are in their early twenties and don't know who Tony Adams and Ian Wright are which I find very sad
