So i dont know if to be suspicious of this or not, just had a message from the people who i won the dash cam off, to ask for my telephone number, as royal mail had asked them for it, as they were having issues delivering the parcel. Now i dont normally have an issue with parcels being delivered here, especially royal mail, i can see if it was a courier company as we are hidden off the road so alot of people drive straight past, and dont see the entrance. Has anyone had royal mail phone them about a parcel before now?
The only thing i can see is they are based in England and im in Wales and i didnt put Wales down in the address, would that make a difference?

I always provide my mobile number when they ask for delivery details as some couriers will send SMS etc with time of delivery etc. NEVER had an issue0

We provide SMS notifications as well as/instead of email notifications for Tracked 24 and 48 parcels.
It's most likely so that we can let you know that we've delivered it to a safeplace or a neighbour, I wouldn't worry about giving your number.0 -
Thanks for your replies, i did give them my mobile number, just you can never be too careful these days with so many phone scams! I can see the idea of tracking, but the parcel is coming to me, not that ive sent it? I have asked the company if they have a tracking number, no reply yet but its not business hrs yet, so hopefully will have one when i get home from work! Ive never had royal mail phone me thou, thats what im confused about, a courier yes, but surely royal mail should know where my address is? They send everything else here no problem!0

I've had royal mail phone to say they're delivering stuff a few times. Only things is they usually tell me the day wrong lol, say expect it today and it comes tomorrow - think the people who book it in for delivery and the posties are on difference wave lengths...2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400

the last 3/4 parcels i have had delivered by royal mail they have txt me in the morning to let me know they will be delivering, and then txt again to say it's been delivered.. so it's probably that x0

Well i havent had a phonecall yet, i tweeted royal mail (privately) and asked if asking for a phonenumber was something they did, and i was told no, and that as long as the address and postcode was on the parcel that there would be no issue, and whether i had a tracking number. I messaged the company on friday to ask if they had a tracking number (bearing in mind the prize is worth £100 so they cant have just send it without proof!) and i have had no reply as yet! Sent a hello? too, still nothing, thou they have posted on their facebook page! I will give it the complimentary 28 days and then start kicking up some fuss. Im not one to give up on whats mine lol.
So they have got back to me, only to ask if i'd received it yet, which its pretty obvious that i havent since i had pm'd earlier asking for an update! They are currently running the same competition on their webpage, i have again asked for a tracking number......0
