Remortgaging with RBS

Hi,

We have a mortgage with RBS, not up for renewal until sept next year, we need to do some house renovations and are thinking of taking out a loan of around £30000, to cover everything.

I know from using the mortgage calculators other lenders would not lend enough with this loan payment going out, to remortgage to anyone else, even though we can more than afford the loan payment, so we would have to stick with RBS. My question is, would we have a credit check done when our deal ends? Our house would be worth a lot more when renovations are done so if I was to request a new valuation from RBS to improve our LTV, would I then have a credit check?

No.

Only if you ask your existing lender for a further advance, or you remortgage elsewhere.
