I’m hoping to do a bit more Christmas shopping today. Our budget is so low it does make it tricky sometimes, but I’d rather keep in budget than stress out about the cost of it all.
I also need to buy stamps, and as usual I’m surprised by how much they are. I used to work in a shop a few years ago, when first class stamps were 50p, and I still think that’s the price even though I know they’ve gone up considerably.0 -
Wow, I still can’t believe we have OPed over £470 this month. I’ve updated the signature and set the goal of £100 for December. I’m not sure how likely we’ll reach it but it should be achievable, just about.
I’ve bought most of the Christmas presents now, apart from ones for the girls and my husband and a couple more people.
In December I need to start planning our aims for 2018, while not living like hermits!0 -
We’re having our first dinner party tonight, so I have to clean and tidy everywhere this morning. I tend to get distracted halfway through, so I might have to follow a list!
I put the Christmas tree up yesterday, so our living room looks nice and festive. We still haven’t finished buying all the presents, and we need to write all the cards soon. November seems to have gone by so quickly! And December is so full it’ll be Christmas in no time.
I received my bullet journal so started it with a birthday spread and 3 calendar years. I’ve got a few pages left in the old one to finish this year, so I haven’t written anymore in the new one.
I OPed £6.85 yesterday to start the month, it’s not much but it’s a start!0 -
Well done Silence101, you are doing incredibly well!0

Thanks!
Yesterday was lovely, the food was a success (thankfully!) and I’m so happy we have a dishwasher now as it cleaned everything for me. That would have taken me a long time if I had to do it all by hand, as we were 8 around the table.
Today is the school fayre but I don’t know if we’re going there yet.0 -

Thanks!
Youngest has her preschool nativity today. I can’t get any of the words or songs she might be saying out of her, so it’ll be interesting to see the show later.
A few NSD /low spend days recently, but we still haven’t finished Christmas shopping. No OPs since the last one, I might wait until the end of the month so we don’t end up having to dip in our savings if I OP too much.0 -
A NSD today, might be able to have another one tomorrow. We’re going to London for the weekend, so that’ll be quite spendy.
I’ve started writing the Christmas cards, and tidied up the house a little. I wish I had a tidy gene as it always takes me a lot longer than MrS. In the same amount of time he’ll have sorted the whole house and I’m still on my first room! I don’t quite understand how that happens, but it does, every single time!0 -
Snow, so much snow! The girls are having a snow day from school tomorrow, so our plan is to build a snowman.
We’ve been so busy this weekend (a very expensive outing, and we still haven’t bought any Christmas presents for the girls yet) so I’m looking forward for a fun and relaxed day tomorrow.
I have managed to OP some money though as my parents generously paid for some of the nursery fees. I was tempted to put it in the Christmas fund, but it’s doing a much better job going into the mortgage.
I’m hoping for a fairly frugal week food wise. We do need to finish the Christmas shopping though so it’ll still be an expensive week, but if we can keep the groceries down it should be manageable.0 -
I’ve just done most of the Christmas shopping online. I was going to go in town, but realised this was easier. Now I just have to hope I didn’t leave it too late for the deliveries! I just need to think of something for my husband, and I think that’s it. I think I know what he wants but it’s rather pricey, so I’m not sure I’ll be getting it now or waiting for his birthday instead.
Managed to OP some left over change.
I don’t think we’ve got plans for this weekend so I’m hoping we can keep it cheap, as last weekend was very expensive. I also need to make a meal plan to use up all the food in the fridge/freezer.0
