Alpha or Partnership

My Civil Service classic pension changes to Alpha on 1-2-18 after 37.5 years. On current wage my pension will be £12,500pa and a lump sum of £37,800 at 60 (close approx). I turn 54 in April.
I hope to retire at 63 so was just asking if it's best for me to carry on with Alpha or take out a partnership pension which I could use as drawdown until my state pension at 67. I plan to only have the employer's contribution of 14.75% to invest.
Only outgoings by then (hopefully) will be general household bills, no mortgage or loans etc.
Thanks.
