Reasons for not training staff?

    Your not giving enough information. What exactly are these peoples job titles and within that job title is there different responsibilities that require more skills?

    Too keep it simple I worked in retail and my job title was "Senior Stock Movement Assistant" The company decided on a pay grade for that job and of course I would get more than just a "Stock Movement Assistant but would never get more than a Supervisor, Sales Manager or Store Manager.

    If I wanted to learn more or get more money then I would have to leave or move into the management side.

    If you have people in your company with the same job title and skill then they should all be paid the same rate of pay. If they're on different rates of pay then this should be reflective in a grading system that should be clearly explained to the workforce so they have a path to the higher pay grade.

    Clearly the Director feels that there isn't the need, if someone leaves they will hire someone else. Not always a bad thing
    Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked
