Will Background Screening Show Previous Employment?

I'm starting a new job soon and I have to have background screening done. Now, I worked a temp job earlier this year for about a month which I left of my own will, but not really on the best of terms with the company. As you can probably guess, I left this off my CV since the job was short and I dind't want a reference from there.
I'm just wondering if this background check will dig up this job?

If it's done well, probably. How did you account for the gap?0

I didn't mention it in the interview
how would they find out if I was employed elsewhere? 0 -

Ok, so I've gotta fill out a form for the 3rd party background checking company, which includes adding all work/education history for the past 10yrs. Is it best I include this job then? Or if I didn't include it, would they find out?
I've been doing some research and you don't have to include everything on your CV, so would it look weird if I included the job on the background form, but left it off the CV?
Btw, I didn't do anything wrong in that last job, just the manner in which I left wasn't great, since I quit with no prior warning. The agency wasn't happy at all, despite my contract saying it was in my rights to do so; I left the job off my CV for that reason.0 -
Its easy to explain not putting a job you worked at for such a short time on your cv. Your cv is to advertise your skills and experience not be a complete record of everything you've done. However omitting this role from a form requesting all your history from you new employer is deception and coukd come back to bite you.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

I don't think most employers are that thorough unless you are working banking, security etc. The standard tends to be contacting the two most recent employers for references.
Personally I wouldn't put a temp job on my CV if I had been there for such a short time. It's pointless because they will unlikely provide a reference anyway as you are not an employee. The background screening company would have to get the reference from the recruitment agency which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. They can only confirm that you were registered with the agency not about how good/poor your performance was.
I wouldn't worry about it0 -
The background screening company could ask what you were doing during any gap between jobs, if it was a full screening.
I doubt they would know to contact your previous employer though.
It would probably look weird if you mentioned this job on the background form but not on your CV. If it was only a couple weeks I'd be tempted to leave it off.0 -
Update: I've already started the job and the background screening must be completed today. I haven't sent in my signed contract yet which gives permission to be screened. Do you think the company will remember that I need my background screening if I don't send it in today?0

By turning up and working somewhere and getting paid you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the contract whether you sign it or not.
There are a couple of exceptions to this, for example a clause allowing the employer to reclaim training costs is normally only enforceable if you have specifically accepted it. Almost certainly they could proceed with the checks regardless of whether you sign the contract.0
