Are you looking for a Mortgage & protection network or Mortgage, protection, pension and investment network?

Which do you do most of?

None of them. Leaving a network and going directly authorised was the best thing we ever did.

That might be a bit tricky for someone who has come straight from a bank. Im not sure if the FCA would accept his application?

I went DA earlier this year, but I think a network would be ideal for someone in the position of the OP. They are given some framework to work with which can then be used when they go DA. I still use a lot of the documents my old network had - a few tweaks here and there. The biggest change was moving over to a new back office system that automates a lot of the process. Everything else is more or less the same.

The network I went under just charged a cut of whatever I made (plus £30 a month), so if I earn nothing one month (which is entirely possible as a new business), you have no expenses. Which is always nice to know if you have a rubbish month.

That is fair enough. Also, being DA is not for everyone. You require a higher level of self-discipline

So, if a network is required, then at least make sure you can exit without penalty or issues when the time comes. As that time will almost certainly come unless you do low levels of business.
