My husband is applying for a mortgage without me

Good afternoon,
I'm hoping for some advice if possible please. My husband and I have secured a new build property and we intend for the mortgage to be in his name only. The reason for this is because I unfortunately have bad credit for various reasons. We have already been told my husband would be able to afford the mortgage on his salary (nothing has been set in stone, this was verbally after a quick look at my husband's wage slips). My question is will it be difficult for him to obtain a mortgage himself? We don't have a joint bank account but we have joint council tax for example. I worry that even though we have secured the property and we have the deposit etc I will hold us back with my credit situation. I would be grateful if anyone could shed any light on what we need to do.
Thanks

Hi you will probably be better posting your question on the Essential Money forum . Main forum page first section .
There is Mortgage and Endowments section which may be best .

Yes. But do not take the first answer you get as definitive. Some brokers etc will feast on anything that could be lucrative to them. Shop around. Be honest.0

Thanks very much, I didn't realise there was another section! Thank you0
