Sick Pay

Can anyone give me some advice. Whilst on sick leave for 4 weeks I was laid off due to lack of work. I have never received my sick pay and the employers are refusing to communicate with me over the matter. I am unable to find out who does their payroll and am unsure how to move forward with this? Surely the sick pay was statutory and I should have received it. How can I find out if they are witholding it from me???

If you qualify for statutory sick pay and you submitted your self certificate followed by your doctors "fit" notes then yes they should have paid it to you.0 -

If you qualify is the main point. There are minimum earning requirements in order to qualify for SSP.0 -
Any Idea how to go about getting it? thank you0

Quite a lot of information on SSP here

If you do have an entitlement and the former employer refuses to pay, you'll need to contact HMRC about it.0

Providing that you have followed your employer's requirements for advising of sickness then they should be either paying or advising you why they have not paid, usually by SSP1 form. If they are refusing to do either then need to contact HMRC details here....
