Not quite, refraction doesn't always correlate to acuity. I have a good friend who is -5 and can see better than me without his glasses on and I'm only a -3, we both correct to 6/4 when wearing glasses

I mis-used the word 'prescription' when I should have said standard of vision. I wasn't referring to lens prescription.

I, too have a different reaction to prescription (used in the correct sense) as my eye with poorest vision sees more clearly then the other, when wearing glasses.

I can assure you that in my hospital trust no one is treated differently for being a driver. I'm in Scotland though.

True this! Nearly everyone that comes through our unit is a driver (well, it is North America). They all wait on the list. Depending on the surgeon it's anywhere from 3- 6 months.

We're 12 weeks for a clinic appointment, 6-8 weeks for a pre-op assessment and surgery within 4 weeks of a successful pre-op unless it's a specialist lens that needs ordering in.

Optician last year said she was putting me on to annual visit instead of two years. Letter came today to make an appointment and explained what would happen, use of drops and not to drive for 20 minutes after. Will be interesting to see if there is any changes and/or cataract.
