Trying to reduce my 3 month notice period

The only reason my notice period is 3 months was to deter people from leaving as half the team left or were in the process of leaving when I joined. This is happening again a few years later with a larger number of people that have either moved on or are in the process of moving on (me included).
when will companies learn long notice does not stop people leaving.....
better T&C and making the place somewhere people want to work stops people leaving0 -
All the jobs I've been in (IT), as soon as I hand in my notice, I'm escorted off the premises and don't have to work it.
As to having to work one, if I was an employer, sure I need some sort of protection against all my staff upping and leaving, but the last thing I would really want is staff members there who don't want to be there, I also wouldn't want them being with other members of staff on a daily basis, where they might be telling the other members constantly, why they are leaving and why their new employer is better.
But I'm not an employer and never have been. The way things are going, soon we are all going to be victims of something or other.
Who will we blame then?0 -
Even if I'm wrong on something I will ignore a useless reply that does not point me in the right direction or makes me think differently.
LilElvis was giving you credit for being able to look things up for yourself by prompting with a contrary view. They could hardly be expected to prove a negative (that the law you had believed in does not in fact exist), it would be for you to search to find the law that positively does exist, though we think you would have failed in your search.0 -

I was referring to the last sentence of LilElvis where they quoted "nonsense" from undervalued as a reply. When some just say's absolute nonsense it does not make we want to think differently. I response to thoughtful replies.
If you read all other posts you will find that both LilElvis and Undervalued gave good info and that I also asked others for information.
I feel you're taking one post out of context and making it into something that does not exist.
Overall a good discussion came out of this post :dance:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
