Thanks KC , it's definitely something I need to start looking into and not waiting till the time is right ...health needs to come first.
Michelle ...flexible working is an option in theory, whether I can make it work for my role ( or make the case for it) definitely going to look into it though!

This week's little wins
Have taken packed lunch into work each day and packing sandwiches for hubby too ( aren't I lovely? :rotfl:)
Downloaded a free book trial rather than buying it on Amazon ! Saving £8! ( Need to remember to cancel the trial!)
Eaten out of freezer and cupboards all week, hoping to make it through to the weekend without the need for more food...could need milk and bread and fruit but can pay in cash!
Free ish weekend planned other than petrol couple of coffees out with friends but between extra fruit/bread/milk and these determined to stick to cash I can find around the house...aiming for £10 in shrappnel!
Wish me luck.....
Been doing some exploring of Flexi working at work, definitely an option in principle .
Going to start doing some reading and research into financial independence. It's bigger than MF for us ....although that will free up so very many options for us. Any tips or pointers from those who have gone in that direction?
Best of all, the sun has been out today and feeling so much better health wise (at last!) Careful not to count my chickens or do too.much too soon!
Hope everyone is having a good week

Hello
I have not achieved FI yet, but in my quest I have decided on balance. I now work less, do work I want to do, don't take on self employed work that I don't love. I have minimal outgoings now which means I can live on a lot less. Even on about 60% of my previous salary, I still save about 40% of what I earn. Eventually this should lead to FI. I have decided that I will live whilst I strive for FI. That way whatever happens I am attempting to live my best life.
I wish you luck on your journey.

Thanks Bexter
That sounds a great balance, and one I'd love to strive towards too ...definitely important to still live life whilst striving for the future.

:EasterBun:coffee:Hallo lovely people's
Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter! Lots of chocolate eaten here :EasterBun:EasterBun:
Woke up this morning early so had a quick :coffee: and did the money sums....mortgage -savings is currently £84500 :j:j
Aiming to keep cash spends low this month ...lunch out with a friend later this week but other than that no major money plans .
May have to pay for some health stuff privately as really long/no NHS provision locally....it's a cost that's worth it as keeps me going and functional !
Food shopping circa £160 already ( to last till the23rd April ) having said that, there are a couple of times we have entertained and fed the five thousand for dinner ( or so it's seemed! ) So not too worried ( we have well stocked freezer and cupboards still!) Bit trying not to shop mindlessly and use everything up instead!
Saving not spending is the motto for the rest of this month ! :money:

It's a great feeling ....cant believe it really!!
No big money news to report, just plodding along really. Doing okay at using up what we have in freezer but that has been mixed in with s few"I'll just pop to the shop" episodes so will do a tally up of total soon.
Not today tho as it's super Sunny and we are off to the coast for lunch with friends! NSD other than petrol , taking a bottle we already had in the house! May have to find some sun cream, looks like it's gonna be glorious sun!
Happy Sunday all xxMF planning for the simple life :j0 -
Lovely sunny day with friends yesterday, didn't get home till late but also no work today so yay!! :j
In money news have £9 voucher claimed thru tcb ...had almost forgotten as it was taking so long to become payable!
Food spends added up and assuming we can eat from what we have for the next 10 days ( may need milk/bread so maybe £2 /£3 over) should come in for just under £115 For may! :j:beer:
Long may this kind of spending carry on! Haha
Off for a nice sunshiney walk today and then a few jobs round house and garden. Have a Lovely bank holiday Monday everyone! :cool:MF planning for the simple life :j0
