Natwest student account - Unarranged Overdraft charges

Options
Hello everyone,

I am having a long check on my financial health lately, trying to cut spends, see if I have been ripped off or paid for something I shouldn't have. This includes looking over bank statements with my own bank, Natwest.

I had a student account with Natwest from 2010-2015 and graduated in 2015.

Throughout those years, I had racked up quite a few unarranged OD charges. Nothing hugely significant.

However, a couple of days ago I saw a link (http://personal.natwest.com/personal/current-accounts/rates-and-charges.html) saying that student accounts shouldn't get those charges.

I thought, surely the charges I got was wrong then! I believe I got hese charges because Natwest thought I graduared, but I had extended and told them. I still got the charges though.

I have contacted the bank and usually with charges they sometimes wipe and update the next day. Sadly, Natwest have told me via phone that I have to go though the complaints team, even though it seems so simple. Plus, I am chasing all sorts at the moment, so could really do with this being a simple process.

So, I have a few questions for anyone that has any knowledge of it.

- Have no charge rule on student account recenly happened?
- If I go to the branch today, will I likely get a better/quicker response than via phone?

Thank you and good day
