    Man On Wire

‘Man on Wire’ is a documentary from British director James Marsh (‘Wisconsin Death Trip’, ‘The King’) which tells the strangely uplifting tale of eccentric French wire-walker Philippe Petit and his near-impossible dream of walking between the World Trade Center towers. Shortly after 7.15am on August 7 1974 – when the buildings were not yet fully completed – Petit, after months of clandestine planning, ‘danced’ on a high wire for 45 minutes. When asked why he did the stunt, he replied that there was no reason.

    El Bano Del Papa

‘El Baño del Papa’ (‘The Pope’s Toilet’) tells the story of Beto, a poor family man living a hand-to-mouth existence in a small South American town who sees a great opportunity to improve his lot in life by building a public convenience for a visit by the Holy Father. The frenzy of this momentous occasion spreads across the entire village as families stake their savings on the potential windfall to be made, but Beto is intent of staying ahead of the crowd.

Over 100 tickets to a free preview screening of Man on Wire

On 7 August 1974, a young Frenchman (Philippe Petit) shot to fame for one of the most extraordinary, magnificent and audacious feats ever undertaken: walking on a high wire between the rooftops of New York’s twin towers, 1,350 feet above the ground!
Man on Wire is the slick, dramatic and gripping retelling of how a seemingly impossible dream was realised. It reveals the energy behind the intensive planning; the steely nerves required to breach security; the skills needed to safely rig the equipment and one man’s courage in committing “the artistic crime of the century”.
We have 55 pairs of tickets to give away for an exclusive preview screening of Man on Wire the winner of the audience award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2008.

The showing takes place at the Odeon Swiss Cottage on Wednesday 30 July at 6.30pm.

To apply for a pair of tickets to the screening please login below. If you are not already an Eros Card holder you can register for free below.
PROMOTION CLOSES AT 23.59 THURSDAY 24 JULY 2008.

THE DUCHESS – PREVIEW SCREENING FOR CINEFORMATION
Cineformation have been allocated tickets for the exclusive BAFTA preview screening of The Duchess, in partnership with South West Screen and Picturehouse Cinemas. The event will take place on Wednesday 27 August at 19:30 at The Little Theatre Cinema, Bath.
As well as a fantastic cast including Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, the feature directed by Saul Dibb has particular significance as parts were filmed in Bristol & Bath The Duchess features Georgina, Duchess of Devonshire (Knightley) who, like her direct descendent Princess Diana, was beautiful, glamorous and adored by the public. But while beauty and charisma made her a household name, one thing always escaped her: love.
TO REQUEST FREE TICKETS: email regions@bafta.org and include the screening title, date and location with ‘BAFTA SCREENING, CINEFORMATION OFFER’ in the subject line. Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
