Matt (Josh Bowman – Revenge), a directionless 20 something and one half of a young couple living in London has an unsuccessful date night with his girlfriend, Anna (Leila Mimmack – TV’s Home Fires), and they go to bed on an argument.
The next morning, masked thugs kidnap Anna as she leaves for work before assaulting Matt, locking him into a body vest containing a package and giving him a mobile phone. If Matt wants to see his girlfriend alive again he must follow the instructions being delivered by text message and deliver the package.
Over the course of one, high-octane day Matt must make his way across an increasingly strange and sinister London as a host of characters and situations attempt to prevent him from succeeding in his mission to save Anna. All the while, Matt can’t shake the feeling he is being watched, or worse yet, played…

I, Daniel Blake
Daniel Blake has worked as a joiner most of his life in Newcastle. Now, for the first time ever, he needs help from the State. He crosses paths with a single mother Katie and her two young children, Daisy and Dylan. Katie’s only chance to escape a one-roomed homeless hostel in London has been to accept a flat in a city she doesn’t know, some 300 miles away. Daniel and Katie find themselves in no-man’s land, caught on the barbed wire of welfare bureaucracy as played out against the rhetoric of ‘striver and skiver’ in modern day Britain.

Jake (Theo Taplitz) is a quiet, sensitive middle schooler with dreams of being an artist. He meets the affably brash Tony (Michael Barbieri) at his grandfather's funeral, and the unlikely pair soon hit it off. The budding friendship is put at risk, however, when a rent dispute between Jake's father, Brian (Greg Kinnear), and Tony's mother, Leonor (Paulina Garcia), threatens to become contentious.
Little Men is a critical yet empathetic look at the dangers of gentrification. Ira Sachs, director of Love Is Strange and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize WinnerForty Shades of Blue, accentuates the natural vibrancy of Brooklyn and brings out the best in his actors. Taplitz and Barbieri have a natural rapport and earnestness that belies their young age. Kinnear and Garcia bring weight to their roles as the feuding parents, and Jennifer Ehle, Talia Balsam, and Alfred Molina round out the cast with wonderful supporting turns. It's a triumphant return to the Festival for Sachs, who has made a film that never lets its abundant kindness interfere with its honest portrayal of a rapidly changing neighborhood.
