Preferring to hide in the safety of his own private world, Nathan struggles to connect with people, often pushing away those who want to be closest to him, including his mother, Julie. Without the ability to understand love or affection, Nathan finds the comfort and security he needs in numbers and mathematics. Mentored by his unconventional and anarchic teacher, Mr Humphreys, it becomes clear that Nathan’s talents are enough to win him a place on the British team competing at the highly revered International Mathematics Olympiad.
Being part of a team and one which has a real chance of winning seems like it could change Nathan’s life forever. But when the team go to train in Taiwan, Nathan is faced with a multitude of unexpected challenges, not least the new and unfamiliar feelings he begins to experience for one of the Chinese competitors, the beautiful Zhang Mei. From England to Taipei and back again, this inspiring and life-affirming story follows the unconventional and hilarious relationship between student and teacher, whose roles are often reversed, and the unfathomable experience of first love – when you don’t even understand what love is.

This month’s FREE Slackers Club preview is the horror-comedy The Voices, starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick, and Gemma Arterton.
Jerry (Reynolds) seems like a fairly normal guy. Maybe a bit too chirpy, possibly slightly dead behind the eyes… but we all know that type of guy. He also talks to his pets… but my Mum does that too, so that’s fine as well(?).
I dunno, is it just me of does this Jerry just seem like a pretty nice guy?
As it turns out, Jerry isn’t really such a nice guy. Oh no. Jerry is really more like one of those guys that you meet, follows you around for a bit, and then adds you on every social network ever invented. Oh yes ladies and germs, Jerry is a legit serial killer.
What will happen to Jerry? And will he kill poor Anna Kendrick? But I was so excited for Pitch Perfect 2!!!

Reunited for the first time since Sense and Sensibility, Alan Rickman directs Academy Award winner Kate Winslet in the romantic drama A Little Chaos.
The year is 1682. Sabine De Barra (Ms. Winslet), a strong-willed and talented landscape designer, fulfils her chosen vocation in the gardens and countryside of France. One day, an unexpected invitation comes: Sabine is in the running for an assignment at the court of King Louis XIV (Mr. Rickman). Upon meeting with her, the King’s renowned landscape artist Andr! Le Notre (Matthias Schoenaerts) is initially disturbed by Sabine’s distinctive eye and forward-thinking nature, but eventually chooses Sabine to build one of the main gardens at The Sun King’s new Palace of Versailles. Under pressure of time and as she charts her own course, Le Notre comes to recognize the value of “a little chaos” in Sabine’s process.
While pushing herself and her workers to complete the Rockwork Grove as an outdoor ballroom, Sabine negotiates the perilous rivalries and intricate etiquette of the court. As she challenges gender and class barriers. Sabine forges a surprising connection with the King himself, and wins a vote of confidence from the King’s brother, Philippe (Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci). As she gradually comes to terms with a tragedy in her past, Sabine’s professional and personal interactions with Andr! bring out honesty, compassion, and creativity in both of them.
