We have a very special treat for those of you who enjoy Theatre. We have tickets available to Noel Coward's sublimely spirited comedy, Blithe Spirit at The Haymarket in Basingstoke.


Tickets are available on the 11th and 16th June.


The Story



Novelist Charles Condomine sips cocktails with his second wife, Ruth, awaiting the arrival of Madame Arcati, who he hopes will provide an amusing subject for his new book about a fake psychic.



Superbly batty she may be - but Madame Arcati is rather better as a medium than Charles imagines. Soon everybody is dropping in for drinks - including Elvira, Charles' first wife, which is something of a shock as she's been dead for seven years.
Temperamental, sarcastic and morally untidy at the best of times, the spirit world has done little to diminish Elvira's lust for life. Finding that only Charles can see and hear her, she gleefully sets about causing the maximum disruption to his new marriage.



Sharply witty and full of fun, Blithe Spirit was Coward's own favourite play, emerging from his imagination in just five days. The opening run in 1941 set London box office records which were not broken for thirty years, and Coward himself later adapted the play for David Lean's acclaimed film version with Rex Harrison and Margaret Rutherford.

Its this summer's craziest, most ridiculously uncontrollable gotta-see-it-like-ten-times comedy. Directed by Todd Phillips (Old School, Road Trip), film. The Hangover stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis as three soon-to-be groomsmen who lose their buddy (aka the groom) and their memory during a balls-to-the-wall Las Vegas bachelor party weekend, then race to retrace their steps and find their friend before the wedding.


The film has garnered so much advanced buzz that a sequel is already being set up, and it's fairly safe to say that this could be Phillips' best film since Old School. You've got Vegas, live tigers in the hotel bathroom, an unknown baby, a stolen police car, a missing tooth and Mike Tyson -- what's not to love? (Note to those guys currently planning Las Vegas bachelor parties: You might want to leave the fiance at home before venturing out to see this flick. Just a hunch, but something tells me she might have a few additional questions, concerns and demands after watching The Hangover. Unless she's totally cool with whatever; if that's the case, the more the merrier!)
