French director Safy Nebbou takes the helm of the French-language psychological thriller about crazed maternal obsession. Elsa (Catherine Frot) is fighting to keep custody of her son Thomas (Arthur Vaughan-Whitehead). One day, at a children’s birthday party, she notices a little six-year-old girl, Lola, and becomes convinced she is the daughter she lost during a fire on the maternity ward. Obsessed by this intuition, she manipulatively inches her way into Lola’s life. Claire (Sandrine Bonnaire), Lola’s mother, allows a friendship to develop, yet gradually she becomes aware and fearful of Elsa’s unnatural behaviour and an intense psychological face-off between two women ensues.Films seen in so far: State of Play, Star Trek, The Hangover, The Proposal, My Sisters Keeper, Public Enemies, Bruno, The Taking of Pelham 123 and have tickets for Bandslam.0 -

First up, on May 15th, One Eyed Monster. What sounds like a classic piece of schlockeroo starring adult film legends Ron Jeremy & Veronica Hart with“Buffy The Vampire Slayer” pin-up Amber Benson. Expect slimy alien creatures and unwise costume choices from an array of screaming starlets. And, most importantly, expect it for free.
On the following Friday, the 22nd, we are offered the blood-soaked grindhouse thrills of Manhunt. If your Friday night isn't complete without a chainsaw massacre of some kind, then this is the film for you.
The final offering in the season is the frankly rather weird sounding Deadgirl. A horror sexploitation romp of the kind that would have had questions asked about it in Parliament in those days of VHS video nasties, it will no doubt attract a cult among the Driller Killer set.
It won't surprise you to learn that every single one of these films carries an 18 certificate.
The participating cinemas are: Vue West End, Vue Cambridge, Vue Edinburgh Omni, Vue Manchester Lowry and Vue Bristol Cribbs Causeway.
If you live within striking distance of one of those fine establishments, and you're sure that the grisly fare on offer won't give you nightmares, just send a mail to creditcrunch@metrodomegroup.com0 -
