The first is a zealous cop, the second a strung out junkie and the third an eight-year-old girl. It just doesn't add up. The whole planet fell in love with John Grogan's bestselling memoir about life with the "world's worst dog"; an adorable, ungovernable member of the Gorgan family. The screen version is directed by David (The Devil Wears Prada) Frankel and is a heart-warming mixture of broad humour and tear-stained sadness. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are the journalists who decide to purchase a puppy as a dry run for the responsibilities of parenthood. The film covers thirteen years of the consternation, frustration and pure joy that Marley brings to their lives. Don't forget a tissue!
