Currently with Halifax, reapply with them?

Hello,

We bought our first house in December, and applied via L&C with Halifax. Got accepted, off we went. Due to circumstances out of our control, we are moving again, and are more than keen to stay with Halifax, due to job commitments etc we were told they were the best for us. Do you think it is now worth us applying directly to Halifax? As they accepted us not so long ago, and we are only asking to borrow another £20/£30k I assumed it's a fair bet they would accept us again? I may be totally wrong of course.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Did you not find the L & C service of sufficient value to want to use them again?

The post was not about L&C being bad/good, it's just if I'm already with Halifax and intend to stay then is it worth using a broker again or apply direct?

Is it fair to say as circumstances with job etc haven't changed they would accept us again? Or would it just be luck again?

Circumstances have changed because you need to borrow more money. Would Halifax have lent you that additional money had you needed it back in December? Are there early repayment charges on your mortgage?

Is the loan to value going to be more or less than before?

Lender risk is less about "how much?" and more about "what proportion of?"

If you borrowed 85% last time but will want 90% this time, life might be more difficult even if affordability remains fine...

Thanks for your replies, last time our LTV was 77.65%, our new one would be 78.62% (or even 69.89% depending on how much money we put into it) so as it is very similar, even though we are borrowing more we are putting more cash in too.

Early repayment charges won't exist as we are staying with Halifax. They would have lent us almost this much in December, we just didn't need it.

Just spoke to Halifax but just concerned that we would be making a mistake not using L&C again, however Halifax did reassure me that as we are current customers it would be possible but less likely that we wouldn't get accepted.
