Halifax (highly recommended)

I thought I'd give a positive experience of Halifax.
I have an impaired credit score (poor) and my partners perfect. We've applied through a broker who recommended Halifax and it's been an absolute breeze. Granted our LTV is 60% (which I'm sure has helped) but with a historical CCJ (fully repaid) and various defaults (again, fully repaid) we have now managed to secure an offer for the price we need to purchase our new build. The rate is low and we're ecstatic full offer has been made.
The reason I'm writing this: I was dreading the application for months, sleepless nights, the works. I made sure my credit file was in the best position possible by repaying any debts with enough time to build my score back up (around two years). If you're in doubt, just think longer term, get yourself into the best possible position financially and try the Halifax, they've been nothing but fantastic. I know everyone's situation is different but I was convinced we wouldn't get an offer, let alone with a high street bank with a very low rate. Get yourself a good broker who knows their stuff and you'll do well.

As virtually anything under 65% without recent adverse gets passed by Halifax, I'd have to agree with AMN.I am a mortgage broker.
