The article in question just happened to have a washing machine 'disinfectant' seller giving the information. So, more of a stealth advertisement, rather than a real story...

I didn't check but I thought it might.......;)

For what its worth, I wash whites together at 40 and every now and again at 60

    colours are at 40

    Nice things at 30

I don't mix smalls with dishcloths.

Everything is washed at 60 in this house, we have a fab washing machine and the programme time is the same for a 40 or 60 wash, so it made sense to wash everything at 60.

An empty wash? Can't you put the tea towels or hankies or something through with the soda crystals?

I really should!! Will do next time :rotfl:

Easycare 40 programme for everything apart from one shirt which is a handwash only and I stick in on a 15 minute cycle.

  • In this weather with sweat 😢 Etc I've been doing our washing at 60C
Normally I only stick to a 40C wash though.
  • That is on a 59 minute cycle too. Our machine allows a 15, 30 or 45 minute wash but these cycles don't spin so then I'd have to do a 7 minute spin but the 59 does everything.
