War time cookery book recommendations

Has anyone got any suggestions for war time cook books. I'm looking to save money, and the ingredients, and the "general" style of the recipes are what I like eating.
I've got one published by the imperial war museum which is ok, I'm just looking for more recipes.
I'm not interested in "budget" modern cookbooks, I've got done if then and they aren't very good. I'm also not after nasty comments like people on other forums choose to make, about suggestion stupid recipe ideas, or thinking it's funny to make comments about the type of food I like

One of my favourites as wellThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Eating for victory had a lot of reproductions of the food facts leaflets, loads of official ministry of food recipes in there, as well as some good techniques.
"All recipes serve four" was the sentence that horrified me though! Gosh my portions these days are too generous ***Mortgage Free Oct 2018 - Debt Free again (after detour) June 2022***
Never underestimate the power of a beautiful spreadsheet0 -
Good Housekeeping Cook Book first published 1948
Very old-fashioned but I would be lost without it.0 -
Marguerite Patten Book are great. Remember wartime diet was pretty stodgy and as we're less active nowadays you might put on weight.0

Ive a copy of The National Trusts Complete Traditional Recipe Book, and whilst it's not wartime, there's some really old dishes featured that have long gone out of fashion. If you can find a copy in the library it's worth a look
Another one I like, may be too modern though, is the original Delias Frugal Food. I think it was originally published in the 70's. Once again older recipes that are out of fashion
And of course, anything by Marguerite Patten0 -
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the "Wartime Kitchen Garden" is on Youtube, doesn't seem available elsewhere, and I remember this as a very interesting series, with both a skilled gardener and a cook. They were professionals, rather than celebrities, and knew what they were doing. Nothing wasted, including fuel for cooking.0
