Can a broker submit additional documents upon mortgage application?

HI all,

Is a broker able to contact a lender and submit additional documents with an application ?

The reason i ask is because i have a ccj on my account which belongs to my brother dated back in feb 2014 which i only recently found out after checking my file as i intend to apply for credit, it seems to be a car fine related charge of just £175, however i will not be paying it, and unlikely to have it set a side as it will cost a fee to do this plus its over 3 and a half years old.

Now i am aware i am able to have a notice of correction applied to my credit file which i have done(albeit at a restriction of 200 words) but i wanted to also provide a elaborate explanation of this upon application, is this possible ?

cheers!

Have you not looked into getting it removed ?
  • Yes initially i did, i had to call the county court which was a nightmare getting through, once i got through i stated i was not aware of the charge and wanted it removed immediately, they stated papers will be getting sent out for me to sign and return to get a court date, waited over a month no papers were sent out, after checking online they would require payment to go to court so after that i didn't bother.

Im more perturbed at the credit reference agencies for marking it against my account when the name does not match mine.

All the lender will see is the unsettled CCJ registered against you on the Trust Registry. Far easier to resolve the matter with your brother.

They will see my notice applied to the account stating the name is my brothers and not mine, and they will see they don't match, my brother lives in a different city to me now as this happened at a house we no longer live at, plus it occurred back in feb 2014 for just £175, but there is only so much i can explain as it only allows a notice of 200 words submitted, hence why i asked the question if any documents can be submitted with application.

I have since put fourth the question to santander that have replied stating when applying online there is a form to upload all documents for application and before any credit checks are done.

In the mean time i have to contest the mark against my account with experian and others.
