There is loads of help and advice on here, I recently convinced OH to do his, he did it all through resolver as recommended on here, so far he's had just over £1000 back and is still waiting to hear the outcome of the last claim. Well worth doing, he did have the account numbers for two of them but not the others.

Thank you that is very encouraging. How lovely to get over a thousand pounds :)

Hi everyone! Belated Happy New Year wishes!

We have been hit badly with the flu... today is the first day since 28th that I can function even slightly. so overall, it's been quite a miserable time, so I'm trying to look for positives that may have arisen from feeling so awful. I did not spend a lot of money between Christmas and now...bonus! Hopefully this may even out the extra spending in December.

I did stick to my pledge that i made back in July 2017 not to buy any clothes or shoes until December. I did end up buying myself a pair of black smart trousers and some going out shoes as a treat! But as I have managed so well without I'm going to continue to not buy unless I really do need stuff.

I felt really miserable at the beginning of December, having no holidays to look forward to, so I booked a cruise for DH & I for December 2018. We used to cruise years ago with the children , which is probably where I built up my debt, but I needed something positive to focus on I didn't think it was too expensive as it's all inclusive / drinks etc. I'm putting money aside for it every month in a savings account.

I went slightly haywire in December with all the present buying & my budgeting app was forgotten ! Some of this Christmas shopping was paid for on an interest free CC. My balance is £576. I hope to pay this off by the end of February with some overtime I've worked.

I'm still paying my debts off... at approx £700 a month. I hope to be below £16 K by the end of May!!!

DS 2 reminded me over Christmas that he only has 6 months left as a med student..meaning that by August he will be earning at long last and that we will no longer have to support him financially as we have done for the past 6 years & will be hopefully better off!

Here's to hoping 2018 is a great year!

I've had a bad start to the year. Lost all momentum with budgeting, I bought a posh dress in the sales, but I love it, so I'm keeping it! It''s for my son's graduation,I'll be so proud, I'll probably cry tears all over it!

So,I'm a bit overdrawn, stopped using budget app and forgetting to ask myself if i need things before I buy. But all is not lost, I know I can get back on track if I focus and pop back on here for support and inspiration.

I've looked at my figures, it's still looking good but could have been better!
    Debt July 2017 - £23,806.33

    Hi,

How have we got to 10th May already? where did this year go? I have been working far too much, doing lots of nights cos I get paid more for them, but it's seriously affecting my health,I feel like a zombie a lot of the time, hence I forget to come on here :(

Just been checking my balances and I have paid almost £7000 since last July. All my debts are interest free still and my snowball is currently at 30 months till my DFD! But hopefully this will be sooner after we've stopped paying for DS at uni.

I am really looking forward to some sunshine this summer particularly as we have no holidays planned this summer. Paying my debts off is my priority but at times, it can be quite miserable and not much fun!

I'm still here! I really need to get back into the habit of budgeting again. I have gone off track, losing track of my finances, mainly because I've had to pay so much out for DS2 in his last year at university. August will be the last time I have to give him money as he gets his first wages at the end of the month! His graduation day was emotional, we were so proud of everything he has achieved to become a doctor. It was worth every penny that we have spent on him.

So my current debt balance is £16,670. I aim to get this down to £14,000 by Xmas. I'm stopping buying clothes, shoes again and going to use the app I used last year that helped me so much. I also need to come on this forum for inspiration & support. .
