Hi pp so lovely to see you back sorry you've had it tough, but as you say September is like a shiny new year. I've taken before and it can do us the world of good.

I've missed your inspiring updates for sure, so will be looking forward to an update. Your chickpea sc curry is legendary in our house as it provided many a frugal lunch during the winter and it's on my list for nerdy weeks lunches too. ;)

    Evening
    :A
Awww you lovely, lovely lot, I’ve missed you too . Thank you so much for dropping in . It’s great to ‘see you’ and it’s very much appreciated. :A

It really does feel so good to be back. I’ve not lost my frugal way but I haven’t exactly had laser focus either! With the help and support on here I’ll be frugaltastic again before you know it:rotfl:

There is so much to report both financial and life that I just don’t know where to begin. I was thinking a few life, family, general well being updates then the one I’m actually supposed to do - mortgage reduction! I then need firm but realistic goals for September. So that’s the plan so I guess I have step one ...

Today has been a very productive day and I’m sure that my return to MFW and that are not coincidental - this place is so motivating.
    Today’s small steps to freedom and happiness were;

Took DD to the station as she has now jetted off on hols. They were so excited, it was lovely to see. She makes me feel so proud that one.

Returned some DIY stuff that was surplus to requirements. £11.40 refund

Exchanged a can of upcycle spray paint at Aldi as it had a dodgy top. No fuss, great service. Those sprays are fabulous value by the way - glossy/chrome metallic in copper, silver ,gold and a few others. £3.99 - the Rustoleum one costs a frickin’ fortune so I’ve invested in a few.

Emptied, cleaned and organised my freezer and did an inventory. Cleared a whole large drawer ready for pre autumn term batch cooking:j

    Did pantry inventory

Huge chickpea and peach curry in SC overnight - it smells so yummy

Dry laundry put away and got three more loads done but not quite dry as it rained here all morning. It’s now on airers to finish off

Spray painted done bits and bobs to finish off my hallway and spare room renovation on a budget.

Took a huge bag of DD’s clothes to my favourite charity warehouse and came back with almost as much. Some kindly soul with a French Connection habit had clearly just had a clear out and at the usual £2 a clothing item it seemed rude not to! I also got a range of nice with tags bits for hampers and gifts, some lovely decorative bits for my newly decorated areas and some gorgeous curtains that are going to be reinvented as table clothes for my tarted up garden furniture and decking area. It’s on the shabby side of shabby chic but it’s looks so much better than it did. It’s also taken longer that I thought so I won’t really see the benefit until next summer. Anyhow £31 spent so not exactly a NSD (god I need some of those:eek:) but I got loads and I’m chuffed to bits with it all.

Replaced a broken floor tile that’s been bugging me for years - all on my own, without smashing any others! I’ve come a long way since that day four years ago when newly single I sat and cried because I couldn’t get a picture hook to stay in the wall!!

L/0 cous cous salad for lunch and stir fry chicken (all ingredients YS!!) and brown rice for dinner.

Hoovered downstairs and mopped the floors

Paid CB CC bill and transferred surplus from current account to OS pot

Paid last bill for my recent renovation spurt so was able to do realistic September budget as today was pay day :j

No exercise today - I’ve picked up my first ever running injury about three weeks ago and it’s driving me nuts :mad:Every time I think it’s ok and do something it flares up again. I’m ok walking and cycling but running seems to aggravate it. I’m going to try a spin class tomorrow and will take it from there.

    Happy Hump Day to you

    PP xx

Great that you are back with a new found focus. Don't think I could resist a French connection bargain like that to be fair
