Sun was shining, some time at home and managed a good sleep.

DS bedding washed and line dried
    Went for a run
    Made marmalade
    Food shopping done for £7.90:j:j
Picked, washed and froze batch of blackberries
    Made overnight oats with blackberries
Did daily cleaning routine and organising task (food cupboards)
    Went for walk after dinner
Freezer use up/healthy eating went well (spicy sweet pot soup for lunch and veg biriyani for dinner)
    Recycling done
    £2.47 TCB OS
Switched gas and electric (tariff the best I could get but is a bit higher than my current fixed deal) £52.50 TCB
Rejoined the Leisure Centre on the unlimited classes monthly membership £24 a month. Booked some classes for next week.

Didn't realised I'd achieved so much until I wrote it down:)
Off to bed with a hot chocolate to read a few chapters of The Tightwad Gazette. Living the Saturday night dream :rotfl:

Ugh cleaning the oven, hideous job.

When we, eventually, getthe kitchen sorted and the oven replaced the last thing I'm going to bake in it is a baked Alaska. That way, if it goes horribly wrong I don't have to clean up the mess.

I've done nothing towards the declutter today, too tired & achy.

    Enjoy your oven clean!

    Wish

    Good plan:rotfl:

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Wish - hope you're better tomorrow.

Another lovely , warm day. Is it just me or is it much easier to get up and out when its sunny? As my list of tasks to do before the holidays are over seems dauntingly huge I've tried to prioritise otherwise I'm in danger of flapping about and achieving nothing.

Consequently, today i achieved something rather than nothing :)

A walk and a proper heart to heart with a very dear friend
    Time with my sister
Another load of bedding washed, line dried and put back on
Gifted apples prepped and in the freezer
Apple crumble made as a thank you to the apple tree owner
Moroccan veggie tangine in the slow cooker over night
    Low fat hummus made
Oven, hob and microwave cleaned and glasses cupboard cleaned, de-cluttered and organised ( on track with clean and organise your house in 30 days). Daily cleaning routine done.
Healthy eating (overnight oats for breakfast, mixed bean soup for lunch and veggie frittata and salad for dinner). Not enough water drunk though:o
    NSD

No money news but TCB from Npower is now pending and its payday tomorrow :j. Looking forward to reviewing August's budgets and goals and beginning September's money shuffles. Also need to think about some lifestyle goals too. Do I need to get out more?:rotfl:
Off to try and get 8 hours sleep :D

Today has been a quiet, pottering sort of day . it was lovely:D

Woke early but had a lazy hour in bed reading
    Went for a run
Finished cleaning the oven as the stuff had to be left on overnight. I tried the Poundland version of Oven Pride and it was just as good but way cheaper. :money:
Did daily cleaning routine and organising task (kitchen drawers clean and de-clutter). The house looks so much better , organised and properly clean not just surface clean. So glad I got that book. Its not rocket science but it gives focus.
Batch cooked curry, corned beef hash and all my gifted apples for the freezer ready for my return to work as the first few weeks of term are always crazy busy.
Had a bit of a pamper - pedicure and moisturise, touched up my roots (1/2 pack of Poundland dye mixed and applied using one of their bowls and brushes:money:)
    Watched Top of the Lake:eek:
Drank 2.5 litres of water :j
Healthy eating/freezer clear (overnight oats with blackberries for breakfast, Sweet potato soup for lunch, veg curry for dinner)

I have money news so not a complete mfw fraud! I rang Talk Talk to get sim only deal for ds and got one for £3 pm p!us was offered all sorts and ended up with super fast unlimited fibre, continuation of my landline deal and my free sim for less than I'm paying now, fixed for two years . total saving for ds's mobile and our broadband/phone package is £18 a month:j

Off to bed to try and get 8 hours sleep :)

Great news on pension increase! You must have a decent sized pot.

Is there a new series of Top of the Lake? We really enjoyed the first series.

I have that book but got a bit exhausted just reading it! Plan is to finish my KonMari work first then hopefully her method should be a breeze in a (mostly) clutter free home.

    Woke up to sunshine:)

It has proved to be a day of two halves. This morning was busy and productive and this afternoon was well, less so:o

Daily cleaning routine done - getting quite into this now, literally 10 mins a day has transformed the place. Also did organizing task ( bathroom cabinet and medicine box). I also did a quick inventory of toiletries, makeup etc and am determined to have a use up.

    NSD

    Drank 2 litres of water

Did a weights class this morning and spinning tonight. Think I'm going to be stiff tomorrow but it feels so good to be back to a bit of variety. I now need to decide my new weekly routine to balance the high intensity stuff with the relaxing, stretchy stuff. Im going to have a go at yoga tomorrow.

    Made overnight oats

    Did September's meal plan

Progressing with freezer use up/healthy eating (porridge for breakfast, tarka dhal (sp?) and rice cakes for lunch, hm chicken chow mein for dinner)

Started a new Netflicks box set - fatal:o:o

Did two loads of laundry ready to line dry tomorrow.

No real money news but I am going to get my August totals together tomorrow as I'm determined to do a monthly report and review and to set monthly money and life goals. We'll see...

As getting 8 hours sleep was one of those goals I'd best be off!

Hi MW, nice to 'see' you :)

It was series one of Top of the Lake - I'm always behind:o

The pension pot is a reasonable size but the % increase was massive. Wish it grew like that every year!

I've never read the Kondo book but loads of people swear by it. Has it helped you?

Why does the summer weather always seem to arrive as I'm due back at work? Its been beautiful today and warm without being too hot:)

I've managed most but not all of my to do list today.

    Visited my parents
    Picked and froze more blackberries
Had a tidy up in the garden and filled the garden waste bin ready for collection to tomorrow
    Repotted some herbs
Wrote a shopping list based on meal plan and stuck to it. Got some 5p YS bargains - fruit and veg plus some artisan bread and tortillas. Weekly spend was £24.58 and I'm hoping we'll only need milk mid week :j
Coaxed ds into finishing his holiday homdwork:eek:
Did daily cleaning routine but didn't manage organising task.
Line dried two loads of laundry, folded it and put it away.
    Went to yoga
    Went through August's financials.

Although August is a non typical month as I'm not at work and I've been away for 11 days it was still useful to go through the budgets and spending diary.

    So here goes ...

Variable costs (all my other costs are fixed so although budgeted for overall i can't reduce them in order to os more)

    Grocery £128.81/£150

    Fuel. £43.24/£130

    Personal spends 29.67/£50

    Gas and electric £31.13/£60

    :j :j

There were various big one off bills that came out of a separate budget, all my holiday costs came out of the holiday pot and my dental bill came out of my annual costs pot.

My total os payment including all cash back, rewards , Tilly tidies and savings was £2026.83 :j :j. £800 of this is money that will go into my pension from next month but even so it is way above my £400 a month target. I'm sooooo chuffed :D. Plus, in addition to my standard mortgage payment my os interest reduced the mortgage by an an additional £9.75.

The best thing is I haven't felt miserable or deprived. :)

Feeling properly motivated so tomorrow I will set September's goals.
