So the complicated situation is i am British and my Husband is French. We have sold half our business in France and will now be paid a wage. I want to buy a house near my family in Uk and prepare to come and will have 50% deposit at least and both will have good salary's. Over 150,000 euro between us per year.
We are 65 . How can we get a Mortgage?
Many Thanks

Ages aside, I think you will have have great difficulty in finding a lender now who accepts foreign currency, and will provide a mortgage to a non UK resident.0

As glosoli says, lenders don't normally accept foreign currency income or non-UK residents, especially if you have no credit history in the UK. There are some lenders who accept expats (i.e. British citizens living abroad), but not sure they'd accept your husband, as he's a foreign citizen. You may also be asked for proof that you wanted to live in the property as you say and that you'd still get the salary from the business in France. If nothing else, you could try the international lending arm of big banks, who are specialised in helping people across borders.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Speak to a broker
I'm afraid I can't name lenders on this forum and even if people offer their experience, you'd have to spend a lot of time finding out whether they could actually help you. Plus, some of these lenders don't deal with the general public directly anyway.
Speaking to a broker doesn't cost you anything, but even if you pay for their services eventually, they would have saved you a lot of time and ensured that you get a suitable lender.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
