Greedy Tory Toffs increase poverty...oops

Turns out under the coalition and Tory govts the champagne socialists' favourite measure of social injustice, relative poverty, has declined.
Of course an indicator that turns positive when the top half of the income distribution gets poorer more quickly than the bottom half is not worth the spreadsheet it is calculated on but 'relative poverty' has always been a holy grail for Labour and the BBC.

It's only in London though.
London doesn't count for most people.
The place with the most rich people will always be "the most unequal", by default.
Those at the bottom will have the same money as those anywhere else in the country, but there is more chance/opportunity in London for those lucky enough to get a break from the bottom.0 -

Think you've hit the nail on the head here - the rich getting poorer rather than the poor getting richer is scant cause for celebration.0
