Sorry you've been ill. I have too - although it wasn't covid for me either (or DD).

Great result on the bay for the chair!

Food sounds lovely as always. You've got me into William Morris too... I'm considering lining a vintage bureau with it... I'm talking JL tissue or wrapping paper... that's more my budget LOL

  • Sorry to hear you've both been unwell but as you say, CV19 is something we need to live with now (although fingers crossed that isn't what you've had!).  Glad to hear you had a nice time away though!

  • Increasing costs

Thank you guys for your well wishes.  My energy is returning and I had great plans for today but then I noticed the washing machine was leaking 😲 Mr F had a look at it and thought it was a failed joint on the water pipe.  Under normal circumstances he would have been able to fix it but, in his current condition, I didn't want him to have to tackle it.  So I called the plumber.  They weren't able to come until after 4.00 pm so, rather than turn off the water to the whole house, I've been running backwards and forwards putting down kitchen roll to contain the leak (fortunately it was only a small one).  The plumbers have now been and it wasn't a failed joint in the pipe after all but a failed washer in the connector pipe 🙄  Something we could have easily fixed ourselves if either or us had been on the ball enough today.  So, the costs of our weekend away continue to increase.  At least the damage is minimal.  An adjacent cupboard has soaked up quite a lot of water so we'll have to see how that dries out.

I've achieved nothing other than putting my finger in the dyke though 😆  Fortunately we had salmon and soup left over from yesterday as it would have been difficult cooking with appliances strewn around the kitchen (we had to move them out to get to the problem).

Although, now I think of it, some things have been accomplished - a secret santa gift arranged, a 60th birthday present organised, the bank accounts reconciled, a prescription requested and some parcels opened and the contents sorted away.

Tomorrow is another day and it won't hurt us to have an extra easy day while we're recovering.  I do hope no more nasty surprises are in store for us though.  I think we've had enough for November 😆

Hope all is well with you guys.

    Fortune x

Yes, at least it was fixed quickly Cheery - although that 15 minute job is going to cost me £72 😲

I was a bit behind with the washing SH so I'm glad it's back in working order.

Glad you're beginning to recover. Not great that Mr F is still feeling so unwell.

Good that you got an extension on the WI log. Hope it exceeds expectations...
