Flying the Flag
Mr F bought a flag pole last year from a friend who had ordered 10 by mistake 😂 We put it up yesterday morning to mark VE Day. It's not up properly - just tied to the fence post, but it works for the time being. We like it though so Mr F will dig it in when he can get the concrete and make it a permanent feature. We are flying the Union Flag but will get a Welsh flag too as we are on The Marches.
I gave the house a quick tidy and Mr F did the same for the garden. We stopped for the two minute's silence. There was leftover Cod, Cauliflower & Chorizo Mornay for lunch after which I varnished the remaining $hrop$hire Rocks I'd painted. Then it was time to pick up our afternoon tea. We went together and took FDawg along too. It was very exciting to leave the house. There wasn't much to see though - just a few cars on the roads. The countryside is looking fabulous though. Our tea was waiting in the hotel porch as arranged and there was no one else around. I could just about see one person inside in the reception area so I gave them a wave, picked up the tea and made a quick getaway. We spent the rest of the day in the garden eating cake and drinking wine. I'd ordered a new book for each of us and they were delivered so we sat in deckchairs in the sunshine, reading and imbibing. It was lovely. I finished off the day with a video call with family - although I think we were all a bit the worse for wear 🍷
I need to get in the veg patch this morning and do some weeding. We may even be able to pick some of the radishes to have with our lunch. How exciting 😆
It doesn't take much to please me these days... I've been a long time in lock down 😂
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend.

Sounds like a lovely day, fortune
I think and hope that lockdown is making us all appreciate the little things in life and that it's not all about buying the latest and most expensive items to keep up with the Jones 's.
