I have sky (just recently upgraded to sky +) i didnt want to pay the silly amount for all the channels. So i got 4 mixes for £18 a month and that includes the kids package. my sons always got cartoons on!0

No 3 year old should be watching that much tv to warrant getting sky
Anyway, children can watch the same program over and over without getting bored. I know this from painful experience. If he likes a particular type of cartoon, get one DVD and if he gets bored of it.....well that's his lot.
Sky are going to charge you installation etc and tie you down for a 12 month contract. To do all that just to get some cartoons for a 3 year old is madness."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I must say that was my initial thought on reading the title of this thread, never mind the fact that sky is a rip off whatever channels its for.
if you really think you need some extra channels could you not get a freeview box? they're only about £20 and have a few kids channels, should be more than enough for your kid

This is true. i got a dvd player with built in freeview from Asda for £20 and there was some free kids channels on that!0

I think you'd be better off getting freeview because that carries the BBC kids channels and you will have no monthly fees.
I wouldn't say Sky is a rip-off. It's a choice and some people like what they give you, others don't. Personally it fits me rather well because I like being able to see series before any one else and I prefer a lot of the American shows over the British ones.
At the end of the day it's your call. I personally think Freeview is a good option for you, at least until you decide whether you want to go for a Sky or Virgin package or not.0 -
I agree freeview is the best choice i have a young child and freeview suits us. i acutally gave up sky for freeview as there are some channels sky classes as premium that freeview give for free.
channel TMF shows nick junior 2 in the mornings programs such as dora, lazy town etc. you have citv that operates from around 6.30 am all through the day and c beebies and cbbc.
as for videos/dvd check out car boot sales im allways picking them up for 50p - £1 a time so much cheaper than new or even ebay
hope this helps

cbeebies is free on a freeview box and my little boy loves it.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

I too would recommend freeview. And at least Cbeebies has a clear finishing time with a story and then a bedtime song at 7pm, some of the kids channels on sky go on all night.0
