As a very long time lurker on this forum, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has provided advice and inspiration over the years...................
I am now mortgage neutral :T
I took out an offset mortgage when they first became available and have concentrated on paying it off - on 7th July 17 i was fortunate to be in the position where (when I want to) I can pay the pesky thing off. I'm now just trying to decide whether to close it down or leave it open. I don't have to close it until I'm 65 (21 years time) and I'm thinking that it might be useful to have a cheap line of credit available should I want/need it.
My advice to anyone who could benefit from an offset mortgage is DO IT. It has been the best thing that I did, although you've got to be disciplined to not just spend it cos its there
Anyway, thanks again - now marching on to Financial Independence through Vanguard ETF's!!
