Within the next year we will be in the same situation, all we want is a smaller place and release some equity to clear existing debts, we have over 10k on credit cards, no way should we be in this situation in our 50's (not blaming anyone but ourselves), life has always been a struggle financially, we have no pension arrangements (odd couple of frozen ones), we just want a smaller place debt free for the first time in our lives, taking away the pressure of keep up with the rat race, don't want to go down the stepchange route, just sell up, pay off, smaller place and try to enjoy life, instead of wondering where the next penny is coming from, we had thought of a park home, but after reading some comments more research has to be done on this, plus there are not many of them around where we live, I'm not against a new start out of the area, but that would need a new job, (not easy with no qualifications in my 50's), so I'm following how you get on and may be pick up some new ideas, hope it all works out for you0

I'm in a similar position and reading this has given me fresh ideas and hope for the future. I've started decorating and clearing out of the years and years of stuff accumulated!
Wondering about a mobile home on a site open for 11 months a year and going on holiday for the month it is closed. Anyone have experience of this? What are the disadvantages? Does one have to have a permanent address as well for insurance and electoral roll?0
