Dry hire Birmingham and Cuba wedding legalities

Hi,
I am getting married in Cuba and want to know how I can gety marriage certificate in English. I believe I only need a passport and birth cert as neither of us have previously been married, but various sites give info about a certificate of no impediment. I'm thinking about getting one just in case as they say the law keeps changing , but I'm not sure of the process..
When I get back to the uk I want a no frills party. I would like a venue which is available for dry hire with no corkage fees in, but wouldn't mind if I had to buy beer from the venue etc.
Ideally Birmingham or south of Birmingham. I want it to look a little pretty, with table covers and chair covers but that's about it. Space for a buffet and a kitchen for any prep. Dance floor area and DJ. I want to do this on as tight a budget as possible.
Can anyone help?

I can't help with venues in Birmingham but I got married in Cuba 6 weeks ago and we didn't need a certificate of no impediment.
We booked the wedding directly with the hotel (Blau Varadero, I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't decided on a venue yet) and the coordinator was incredibly helpful and let me know exactly what we needed to provide and when it was needed.
I don't think there's any way to get the marriage certificate in English, it's my understanding that we'll receive it in Spanish (I don't know if you're aware but it takes around 4-6 months after the ceremony to get your certificate) and would then have to get a certified translation if we want an English copy.
Congratulations, enjoy Cuba and the wedding.0 -
certificate of No impediment is obtained after a face to face interview at the registry office but as stated above its not neededEx forum ambassador

I can't imagine that the Cuban authorities issue marriage certificates in English, and AFAIK the British authorities don't issue marriage certificates for weddings that took place abroad. I believe that in the UK a marriage certificate in Spanish will be acceptable for most things - that used to be the case, anyway.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
