L&C - any good for contractors?

I'm currently contracting (PAYE via agency or as a FTC rather than Ltd company) and am looking to purchase another property. I contacted L&C who said there were a couple of providers in the market who would lend, but choice (understandably) would be pretty limited.
As a whole of market broker, I don't have any reason to doubt what they're saying, but are there any other brokers, perhaps specialising in mortgages for contractors who might also be worth giving a call?
