    I had an employer who was charging me out at £750/day back in 1999 - and I was being paid about £100/day.

    15% is about right. Any invoice factoring service will charge 10% of the invoice value so the agency is really on getting 5% for finding you the job - when I considered how many candidates they had to speak to for me to get the job it seemed fair enough to me when I was contracting.
